Sustainable Practice of the Future: New Interactive Tool Launches to Support Sustainable Change in Veterinary Practice
Following the success of the immersive 3D Sustainable Practice exhibit at London Vet Show, developed by inspiring vet care and Vet Sustain in collaboration with MSD Animal Health, a new interactive digital tool has now been launched to support veterinary professionals in identifying simple, practical ways to improve sustainability in practice.
The ambition is to make sustainable changes easier by helping practices identify practical actions that benefit animals, people and the planet.
Designed for practice colleagues, the interactive resource allows users to virtually explore different areas of a veterinary practice and discover practical steps to improve sustainability. The tool includes more than 50 practical actions spanning small animal, farm and equine settings, providing an accessible introduction to embedding sustainability into everyday practice.

Each action aligns with one of Vet Sustain's 6Ws of Veterinary Sustainability: warming, waste, water, welfare, wildlife and wellbeing. These are mapped to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The resource complements inspiring vet care's Positive Pawprint sustainability strategy and Vet Sustain's educational resources, helping to support the wider profession in achieving a more sustainable future.
The Sustainable Practice of the Future tool is freely available to the veterinary community, providing clear steps that can help veterinary professionals turn sustainability ambitions into meaningful action.
Sarah Heath, Group Director of Sustainability at inspiring vet care, said:
"We're proud to have worked alongside Vet Sustain and MSD Animal Health to create a resource that is accessible to the whole profession and supports a positive vision for the future of veterinary practice. By transforming our collaborative concept into an interactive digital tool, we're making it easier for veterinary professionals to understand the practical steps they can take to embed sustainability into everyday practice."
David Black, Director of Vet Sustain, said:
"We're committed to inspiring and enabling sustainability across the veterinary professions, and accessible, engaging, practical resources are a key part of helping teams turn awareness into action. It's the everyday changes that can make a real difference. We're delighted to have collaborated with inspiring vet care to develop this tool and share it with the wider profession."
Susie Wood, EURAM Corporate Accounts Director at MSD Animal Health, added:
"MSD Animal Health is proud to support this collaborative initiative, which gives veterinary teams practical, accessible guidance to help embed sustainability into everyday practice. As a company committed to One Health, we recognise the important role the veterinary profession can play in creating healthier outcomes for animals, people and the planet."
