BOVA Competition – Win a free place on Vet Sustains Sustainable Approach to Clinical Veterinary Practice online CPD course worth £1500

As a key supporter of Vet Sustain, BOVA are fully committed to sustainability recognizing that as stewards of our environment and community, sustainability is a responsibility that must be taken seriously. As part of this commitment, BOVA are offering one member of the Vet Sustain network a free place on the Vet Sustain Sustainable Approach to Clinical Veterinary Practice online CPD course.

Vet Sustain

Our Sustainable Approach to Clinical Veterinary Practice 10-module, self-directed, online learning course empowers learners to drive sustainable changes needed at a practice level, and to lead conversations – for the benefit of the animals under our care, our communities, wildlife and the wider environment. Offering over 35 hours of CPD and a step-by-step guide to action sustainability in veterinary practice, this course explores carbon footprinting, policy making, the carbon 'pawprint' of pet ownership, sustainability in the operating theatre, resource use and procurement, responsible use of medicines, waste management and understanding behavioural change. It is the ideal starting point for anyone wanting to develop their understanding of the sustainability issues we are facing within the veterinary profession providing tools and actions that can be used to drive sustainability in veterinary practice.

To enter, we would like to invite you to submit a photograph and write a short paragraph (no more than 500 words) focused around any ONE of BOVAs key 10 sustainability themes (outlined above). You may wish to showcase sustainability initiatives that you are championing in your own workplace, or perhaps share your ideas and insights into one of the key themes that you are particularly passionate about. Closing date for the competition is 31st July 2025 and all entries will be reviewed by Vet Sustain and BOVA and a winner will be selected by mid August.

This competition is open to vets, vet nurses and paraprofessionals working in small animal and equine clinical practice who are interested in learning more about sustainability.
